CV-based job matching starts from what you have already written down - your CV - instead of from the keywords you can think of. This guide explains, step by step, what Jobbr.ai does with your CV, how it finds and ranks job listings across Europe, and what decides which jobs are sent to you.
What is CV-based job matching?
CV-based job matching means the search is built from your CV. You upload it once, choose a country, a city, a job type and a work model, and AI works out which job titles, skills and seniority to search for. The listings it finds are then ranked against your profile, and only the jobs that fit your experience are sent to you.
The difference from a keyword search is who does the translating. On a job board you have to guess the words employers use. Here, the words come from your own experience - including job titles you might not have thought to search for.
What happens to my CV before any AI sees it?
Your CV is anonymised first. Your name, contact details, date of birth and photo are removed, and only your professional profile is kept. That profile still contains your work history - employers and dates - because that is what the matching needs, so it is anonymised, not anonymous.
The profile is processed by AI models run in France. The CV file itself is kept in a private, access-controlled storage bucket, never at a public URL, and it is deleted when your results are delivered, or about 24 hours after upload if they are not. Jobbr.ai does not sell your data.
How does the AI understand my experience?
From the anonymised profile, the AI builds a search profile: your occupation, the alternative job titles your experience fits, your industry, your key skills and your seniority level.
It also works out how employers in the country you chose word that kind of job. The same role can have a different title in Germany, the Netherlands or Spain, and a search in the local wording finds listings an English-only search would miss.
How are matching jobs found?
The search profile is used to search current job listings from job boards and company career sites across Europe. A single search can miss good jobs, so up to three differently aimed searches can run - never the same query twice:
- First, recent listings whose title or description matches your occupation and field.
- If that finds too few relevant jobs, a search on job titles alone, over every still-open posting up to six months old - the precise search, and the one that finds older roles that are still open.
- If there are still too few, a wider search on recent listings using your skills and the alternative titles you would suit.
Each further search only runs when the ones before it did not find enough relevant jobs, and the results of all of them are merged and de-duplicated before ranking.
How are the results ranked?
Every listing is scored on two things. The first is keyword overlap: how many of your job terms and skills it shares, across its title, its description and its listed skills, with a soft signal for seniority. A job can score well on the strength of any of these, not only its title.
The second is embedding similarity: how close the meaning of the listing is to your profile. Keyword overlap alone cannot tell that two differently worded titles describe the same field; comparing meaning can. The two scores are blended into one ranking.
What does the AI fit rating do?
The best-ranked listings are then rated by AI from 1 to 5 for how realistically you could apply for them, judged against your actual work history. That rating decides what is delivered and in what order: low-rated jobs are left out, and the best fits come first. Up to 50 jobs are delivered per search.
Results arrive by email as a PDF, CSV or HTML file, or in your dashboard if you have an account, where you can bookmark listings and track your applications.
How is this different from searching a job board yourself?
On a job board you type keywords, filter, and read through the listings yourself. CV-based matching reverses that: the search terms come from your CV, the listings are scored against your profile, and you receive a short list of jobs rated as a good fit rather than every listing that contains a keyword.
Jobbr.ai does not host the jobs or apply on your behalf. Each result links to the original advert, and you apply there, on the employer's or job board's own site.
How much does a CV-based job search cost?
A search costs €4.00, excl. VAT. Your country's VAT is added and shown at checkout before you pay, and you pay once through Stripe. There is no subscription and nothing recurs. Completing the short feedback survey after a search adds a free search credit to your account, up to three at a time.
