About the Team
The Sales Development team at Chargebee acts as the tip of the spear for our global enterprise growth. We are a high-performing group of consultative pipeline builders who engage C-level executives, VPs of Product, Chief Payment Officers, and Revenue Operations leaders across fast-growing businesses.
Our BDRs lead with domain authority. Partnering directly with executive decision-makers to expose critical bottlenecks across usage-based billing, token metering, payment orchestration, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
Our culture is rooted in rigorous coaching, transparent feedback, and continuous product/market mastery. We don't just book meetings; we lead peer-level conversations that position Chargebee as the mission-critical monetization engine for scaling platforms.
About the role
As a Business Development Representative, you will lead high-impact outbound strategies targeting key decision-makers across mid-market and enterprise accounts and you will drive the initial phase of Chargebee’s enterprise sales cycle.
Through rigorous account research and personalized, context-driven outreach, you will diagnose monetization pain points and articulate Chargebee's value proposition with authority, playing a pivotal role in shaping our pipeline, turning cold market triggers into active, high-converting discovery meetings for the sales organization.
This role will cover territories in the Eastern and Central time zones in the U.S.
What you'll do
Execute Multi-Channel Outbound Strategy: Initiate high-impact outreach across phone, personalized email, LinkedIn, and video to engage executive decision-makers within target accounts.
Diagnose Operational Bottlenecks: Conduct deep account research to map key decision-makers and identify technical friction points across billing architecture, usage-based pricing, and revenue operations.
Engage Multi-Threaded Buying Committees: Initiate peer-level conversations with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Finance, Engineering, and RevOps teams.
Overcome Objections with Authority: Navigate gatekeepers, screeners, and executive pushback on live calls. Converting timing, travel, and date rejections into high-value 1:1 discovery meetings.
Articulate Domain Expertise: Clearly communicate Chargebee’s value around complex monetization topics, including usage-based token metering, ASC 606 compliance, checkout conversion, and payment orchestration.
Continuous Coaching & Skill Mastery: Actively participate in call reviews, peer coaching sessions, and playbook strategy meetings to continuously refine live execution and objection handling.
Drive Qualified Pipeline: Consistently meet or exceed monthly quotas for qualified discovery meetings and sales-accepted pipeline generation.
Maintain CRM Data & Account Intelligence: Capture actionable account intelligence and maintain precise pipeline tracking within CRM tools to ensure seamless AE handoffs.
What you'll bring
Relevant Experience: 1+ years in an outbound sales, business development, or high-velocity customer-facing role within SaaS, FinTech, or technology ecosystems.
Executive Phone Presence: Exceptional oral command and executive posture on cold calls. Capable of engaging C-Suite, VP of Product, and Finance leaders with authority, clarity, and speed.
Commercial Curiosity & Learning Agility: A foundational interest in SaaS business models and pricing strategies, combined with the intellectual curiosity to master complex monetization concepts (such as usage-based billing, payment orchestration, and automated revenue recognition).
Assertive Objection Handling: Proven ability to navigate gatekeepers, handle live pushback, and turn timing, event, or travel rejections into active 1:1 discovery meetings.
Coachability & Growth Mindset: A high capacity for self-reflection and a desire to continuously improve by analyzing call recordings, participating in live role-plays, and applying feedback in real-time.
Strategic Account Research: Skill in analyzing account triggers, market movements, and tech stack signals to craft tailored, context-led outreach.
Modern Tech Stack Proficiency: Experience with enterprise sales tools (CRM platforms, conversation intelligence, sales engagement tools, and sales intelligence data providers).
Nice to have
Ecosystem Experience: Direct experience or exposure in FinTech, cloud infrastructure, e-commerce, or enterprise SaaS environments.
Conversation Intelligence Exposure: Familiarity with using conversation intelligence platforms to analyze call recordings and refine live prospecting performance.
Monetization Mechanics: General awareness of subscription management concepts, usage-based pricing/metering models, or financial workflow automation (e.g., ASC 606, payment gateways).
Multi-Threaded Prospecting: Experience mapping and engaging multi-buyer personas (Product, Finance, RevOps, C-Suite) within a single target account.
